LIFTING WITH PURPOSE

We build innovative vertical lift systems that make transport chains more efficient and sustainable — keeping logistics affordable while reducing pressure on the planet. All of this happens within a work environment focused on continuous improvement and strong, long-term relationships.

Pushing boundaries
since day one

Our journey is built on engineering excellence.
A relentless focus on quality and innovation has shaped our place in the lifting industry — and continues to drive us forward.

1976

The first lift manufactured at Knapen Wagenbouw for double-deck loading of pigs.

1988

Jan Knapen Jr. has been working with hydraulic lift systems for the transport of racing cars and livestock since 1988.

2008

The first lift for transporting formula cars is manufactured at Knapen Hydraulics.

2011

Founding of Sykono as a one-man company specializing in building loading lifts for double-deck loading of livestock/pigs, general cargo, and cars. In the early days, the company mainly supplied small independent racing teams who installed the lift onto an existing trailer themselves.

2012

The SPL1500 lift, with a low own weight, is designed for pig transport.

2013

Due to the growth Sykono experienced during those years, it was decided to rename the company to “Sykono BV.”

2014

A partnership is established with Palfinger Tail Lifts, now MBB GmbH, in Ganderkesee, Germany. Palfinger handles worldwide sales except for the Benelux, while Sykono BV focuses on production. Later that year, Palfinger and Sykono appear together at the IAA in Hannover, showcasing their latest lift models.

2015

Development begins on the SGL1750 lift for the UK market. This lift is intended for supplying supermarkets.

2016

Sykono BV moves into its current location at Dr. Huub van Doorneweg 40 E in Deurne.

2017

Together with Palfinger, a lift is developed for shipping containers, allowing operations both on the ground and on the truck.

2020

The SHL2000 is developed for box trucks equipped with a tow hitch.

2023

Over the past 15 years, Sykono has built many lifts in various models and delivered them to more than 18 countries, proving that Sykono is a reliable international manufacturer of loading lifts.

2026

Each year, small steps are taken in growth, focusing on quality, delivery reliability, service, and, equally important, strengthening the team and maintaining strong relationships with key partners in the supply chain.
